Internship Opportunities


Interns have the opportunity to interact with numerous local, state, and federal policymakers and community leaders, as well as attend and facilitate special events and community meetings. Interns will have a key role in the maintenance of our department’s social network sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. Interns also receive opportunities to gain and sharpen skills key to any future career: writing briefs, strategic plans, correspondence, and media releases; research and data compilation, critical thinking and analysis; skills in organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking; and interpersonal communication skills. In addition, they will gain exposure to a wide range of possible careers in healthcare, government, business and public relations. 


  • The internship will be primarily located at our office in Hillcrest, however prospective interns should expect to work anywhere in San Diego County. 
  • A minimum of 3 days/week at 12 hours/week is required.
  • This is an unpaid internship.
