Deeply coughed specimen,
transtracheal aspirate, or bronch brush preferred. Recommended screening
procedure: 3 first morning specimens collected on 3 successive days.
However, 3 samples collected at 8 hour intervals will be accepted. Have
patient rinse mouth well with water to avoid contamination with food particles
and mouth flora. |
