Place swabs in transport system (tube
with red top and gel bottom). If the rapid strep test is negative, a culture
will be setup from second swab in transport media. If the only swab submitted is
in transport media then only a culture will be performed. Test will not
differentiate active disease from inactive disease or carrier state. Applicator
sticks are not acceptable. Please use the transport system with 2 swabs and red
top available in Microbiology Lab. |
