GENERAL LABORATORY NOTES for BLOOD GAS

All samples must be collected in a heparinized syringe and transported immediately to the laboratory on ice.
 
 Specimens for ionized calcium analysis may be collected in a green top tube and must be transported to the laboratory immediately on ice.
