CVC Building

PCU Units include 3 East (15-bed unit), 4 West (12-bed unit) and 4 East (15-bed unit)

These units provide care to a vast array of medical cardiology patients including cardiothoracic surgeries, which include lung/heart transplants, coronary artery bypass, valve replacement and pulmonary thromboendarterectormies. These units utilize advanced training and skills to take care of high-acuity, complex patients. 24-hour physician coverage on this unit. Nurse to patient ration is 1:3 or 1:4.

Ideal candidates: Must have CA RN license, BCLS (BART) and ACLS (ART) and recent acute care experience in critical care. We prefer candidates with PCCN, CSC, and CMC certifications and experience with Cardiopulmonary and cardiac care. Must be a team player and have good communication skills.

ICU Unit (3 West)

This is a 12-bed unit that provides care to cardiovascular patients. Ratio is 1:1, 1:2 or 2:1 depending on acuity. The type of patients on this floor include Heart and Lung Transplants, PTE Patients, CABG's, Valve's, and Ventricular Assist Devices including Total Artificial Hearts. Stroke and Vascular Surgical patients will be on this floor as well.

Ideal candidates: Must have CA RN license, BCLS (BART) and ACLS (ART) and recent acute care experience in critical care. We prefer candidates with CCRN, CSC, and CMC certifications and experience with Cardiothoracic patients. Must be a team player and have good communication skills.

PTU (Second floor) Pre- and Post-Treatment Unit

This is a 20-bed unit that covers all pre admissions and post recovery treatment to the four Cardiac ORs and four cath lab and EP labs. Recovers surgical and cath lab patients. Prefer candidates with PACU and ICU experience and have CCRN or CPAN certification. Also prefer cardiovascular experience. Will be 10- or 12-hour shifts with on call. Must be willing to float to other locations.
