Our cochlear implant program is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the region. Our balance specialists research and treat balance disorders such as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), vestibular neuritis, autoimmune inner ear disease (AIED) and Ménière's disease. They also manage hearing loss with precision audiology testing and advanced cochlear implant and hearing aid technologies.
The physicians at UC San Diego treat all forms of ear disorders and diseases, including viral, bacterial, hereditary, congenital, autoimmune, or caused by injury. Some of the conditions we regularly treat include mastoiditis, ear infections, otosclerosis, perforation of the tympanic membrane and cholesteatoma.
Our head and neck oncology physicians are leaders in new and minimally invasive techniques to address thyroid and parathyroid nodules, skull base tumors, throat, tongue and neck cancers and non-cancerous tumors, and tumors of the orbit (surrounding the eye).
UC San Diego has decades of experience in effective treatment of nasal obstruction, chronic sinusitis, obstructive sleep apnea, rhinitis, nasal problems affecting taste and smell, sinus and nasal masses, and other forms of sinus and nasal dysfunction.

Our pediatric ENT program at Rady Children's Hospital provides medical and surgical care for children with disorders of the ears, nose and throat. Our dedicated team of specialists addresses congenital abnormalities, injury, tonsillitis, snoring, hearing loss complex hearing disorders, cystic fibrosis and speech pathology.
Established in 2007, the Facial Nerve Center is exclusively dedicated to the treatment of facial nerve disorders in both early and late stages. Our team of multispecialty board-certified physicians and medical specialists is committed to the compassionate care and support of patients with facial nerve disorders.
The head and neck trauma team conducts rapid surgical assessment of people's needs following severe injury and performs lifesaving surgery. They address all traumatic situations such as car accidents and fire. There are numerous ways a traumatic situation can cause injury to the face, such as a car accident or fire.
Our facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons are experts in cosmetic surgical and noninvasive procedures to improve function and form of the face and neck. We work closely with specialists from other disciplines to perform complex facial reconstruction to address congenital defects, developmental problems, cancer and injury.
