UCSD Medical Center is committed to operating approximately 250 hospital beds in Hillcrest, including trauma, burn and expanded emergency services, until 2030. In addition, Hillcrest will house comprehensive outpatient services and a robust research program. Our commitment includes the following:

$80 million investment to ensure patient safety, comfort and access
- New angiography suites
- Emergency room expansion
- Expansion of ambulatory surgery, patient recovery areas
- State-of-the-art imaging (MRI, CT)
- Catheterization labs
- Seismic retrofilling to meet 2008 standards
