What Do Volunteers Do?

Volunteer assignments may include a variety of tasks.

Clinical Tasks

• Run errands to labs, pharmacy and other areas.
• Transport and escort patients (using wheelchair)
• Assist staff with patients (feeding, turning, ambulating)
• Read to and visit with patients

Administrative Tasks

• Filing
• Answer phones, take messages
• Computer data entry
• Organize patient charts
• Organize patient information materials
• Photocopying
• Clean equipment
• Organize supplies

**Please note that “hands on” experience requires a license and cannot be done in a volunteer capacity.**
