About the Bannister Family House |

History
The late Ralph Bannister's generous donation enabled UCSD Medical Center to construct the Bannister Family House. The House is named in memory of his late wife, Stella, and his late daughter, Joann. Since opening on May 11, 1994 over 1,900 families from 49 states and 23 countries have enjoyed the comforts of "a home away from home".
All of the comforts of home are provided at the Bannister Family House…a place to sleep, a place to rest during the day, prepare meals, launder clothes, and a place where children can lead relatively normal daily lives. By keeping family units together, we hope that they may find the inner strength and spirit to move forward from a period of overwhelming stress.
Funding
The Bannister Family House depends on donations from individuals, community organizations and businesses to ensure that it remains a haven of comfort for families facing severe medical crises. Make A Donation
