Research & Clinical Trials in Breast Cancer

Tomorrow’s Treatments Today

Our role as San Diego’s only academic medical center enables us to take advantage of new technologies and new therapies that are not generally available. It also gives us a wider array of resources – and access to new knowledge. In fact, if you think we’re in the inner circle, you’re right. We’ve read – and sometimes written -- the latest chapter in the body of knowledge about breast cancer science.

The physicians who treat you are also researchers and professors who are training the next generation of medical pioneers. And they’re bringing you the new knowledge, the insights into where the field is heading, the exciting new developments that are in process. Right here in San Diego.

Pushing the Envelope

Our physicians and researchers are never satisfied. They always want to know more, to decipher the next great puzzle, to provide the optimum therapy and the least discomfort for the patient. That’s why they always push for more -- more answers, more technology, more funding to study the kinds of things that perplex them. That’s what it takes to keep delivering breakthrough breast cancer care. Not in some ivory tower, but right here in San Diego.

Clinical Trials

As a patient at the Moores UCSD Cancer Center, you may be eligible to participate in one of our breast cancer clinical trials. Your doctor will advise you about trials for which you may be eligible. Participation in clinical trials is always voluntary, so it’s your choice whether to opt in. We recommend you learn as much as you can about the trial before you decide.
