Your First Appointment

Your social worker also will give you information on support groups, stress-management programs and other no-cost educational workshops. Individual, couples and family counseling resources are yours for the asking, as are medication evaluation and management services. Just like our medical care teams, our psychosocial support team specializes in gastrointestinal cancers and there isn’t much we haven’t seen or heard before, so we’re truly prepared to assist you with your needs, large and small.

Moores UCSD Cancer Center Support Services

• Center for Mindfulness - classes in Mindfulness Based Stress Reducation (MBSR)
• Dental Care - A board-certified local dentist is donating one day per month to provide free comprehensive dental and oral care to Moores Cancer Center patients who are uninsured, underinsured, or have reached their dental insurance coverage limits.

• Palliative Care  - Enhancing care for patients and their families by helping to formulate goals of care, manage symptoms and address psychosocial needs

• Patients Supporting Patients  - Our unique Patient Advisory Council is comprised of patients, survivors and family members whose primary goal is to enhance the patient care experience.
