The main treatments for ovarian cancer are surgery and chemotherapy. Surgery How much surgery you have depends on how far your cancer has spread and on your general health.  It is important that your surgeon is experienced in ovarian cancer surgery, and UCSD’s gynecologic oncologists are specialists in both major surgical procedures and those that are minimally invasive. The surgical procedure used for ovarian cancer is a radical hysterectomy, which removes the uterus, cervix, ovaries and fallopian tubes.

Chemotherapy
