Internal Promotion Program

The Internal Promotion Program at UCSD Medical Center was developed to expand opportunities for promotion and transfer for career employees.

With this program, UCSD Medical Center career employees will receive priority consideration for referral to vacancies in selected payroll titles by applying to specific jobs.

Eligibility

Career vacancies in the following payroll titles are eligible for the internal recruitment selection:

  • Administrative Specialist
  • Assistant Administrative Analyst through Senior Administrative Analyst
  • Community Health Program series
  • Accountant I – IV
  • Buyer I – IV
  • MSO I – III
How does it work?
  • Career employees are eligible to apply and receive priority consideration for referral to the hiring manager.
  • The internal recruitment period for these positions is one week from date posted.
  • Only eligible qualified employees are referred during the internal recruitment posting period for priority consideration.
  • Referrals for priority consideration can be made if three or more qualified candidates apply. If fewer than three internal qualified candidates apply, the external applicant pool will be considered.
  • Recruitment will close without consideration of external candidates if the hiring manager selects an internal candidate.
