Scheduling requirements : Bleeding time must be scheduled by notifying the Hematology laboratory, x32244. Bleeding times are available M-F, 0800-1530 only, excluding holidays. Method: Manual Clot Detection
Special Instructions: Aspirin and anti-inflammatory medication will prolong the bleeding time result. The patient should be off aspirin for at least 10 days prior to testing. Bleeding time results will be affected when the platelet count is less than 100,000 mm3. For additional information call the Special Coag Lab, X32249.
