Instruct patient to defecate into a
clean dry bedpan without mineral oil. Remove a portion of the specimen with a
tongue blade and place in the specimen container. The assay to detect C.
difficile toxin will be performed by the Virology lab on each fecal sample
submitted for C. diff. culture. |
