Special Instructions: |
Clinical significance of culture: to identify presence of Legionella in the respiratory system. Instruct patient to expectorate first "deep" sputum specimen directly into container and to close top of container. Submit specimen as soon as possible after collection. If specimen is delayed, then store at room temperature. |
