UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center

Thousands of individuals turn to Moores Cancer Center for the comprehensive care and complex treatment available only at academic medical centers. Our patients have access to the latest technological advances, compassionately provided by physicians and surgeons with a tremendous scope of knowledge and expertise.
Moores Cancer Center is one of just 40 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States, and the only one in the San Diego region. Such centers are prominent among the leading institutions in the nation dedicated to scientific innovation and clinical excellence, and studies show that outcomes are better at NCI-designated centers.
Our building, which opened in 2005, brings clinical care together with support services, clinical trials, prevention and outreach programs, and cancer research laboratories — all under one roof. The building houses two structures with a common base: a three-story facility for clinical care and administration, and a five-story research tower. This design encourages interaction and intellectual exchanges between our world-renowned clinicians and researchers.
