URGENT MATTERS
- If you have an emergency or life-threatening matter, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
- If you are an established patient with UCSD Medical Center and have an urgent issue, call the UCSD Message Center at (619) 543-6737. If your physician is unavailable, the on-call doctor will be paged. If you do not hear from the on-call doctor within an hour, please call the UCSD Message Center back.
NON-URGENT MATTERS

To schedule an appointment with you physician, call the appropriate clinic phone number.
- Question About Your Medicine
If you are an established patient at UCSD Medical Center and have a question about your medicine, including refill, please contact your pharmacy.
Your pharmacy will then contact your UCSD Medical Center physician.

- Health Questions: Established UCSD Patients
If you are an established patient with UCSD Medical Center and have a health question, please contact your doctor by calling the appropriate clinic phone number.

If you are not an established patient at UCSD Medical Center but have a health question, contact your health plan as they often have a nurse advice line.

- To register as a new patient or to update your registration:
- If you are new to UCSD Medical Center, you must register as a new patient prior to scheduling any appointment. This is done by telephone and only takes a few minutes.
Call (888) 309-8273, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Select the option that says, "New Patient Registration."
- If you are an established UCSD Medical Center patient and your ID card has expired, you have a change of address/phone number/insurance/ER contact, you must update your registration.
