UCSD Medical Center Opens New Scripps Ranch Clinic

The new UCSD Scripps Ranch medical practice will open Friday, March 19. The practice, formerly UCSD Mira Mesa Clinic, is relocating two miles east of its existing site. The new location, 9909 Mira Mesa Blvd. Suite 200, is a custom-built facility with patient-friendly space that will provide a wide-range of primary care services.

“UCSD Scripps Ranch is just part of our on-going commitment to our patients to provide them with the most modern treatment methods in a comfortable surrounding,” said Holly Salzman, M.D., medical director.

“This state-of-the-art facility was designed with the patient in mind to improve the delivery of primary healthcare. We have increased the size of the clinic by 3,000 sq. ft. to better accommodate our patients and staff,” said Salzman. “We will continue to offer the full spectrum of family medicine care including obstetrical care, sports medicine and mental healthcare.”

The practice treats more than 20,000 patients yearly. The expansion into the new Scripps Ranch facilities will help us better serve the growing communities of Scripps Ranch, Mira Mesa, Penasquitos, and Tierrasanta.

Family Medicine is a specialty of medicine that provides preventive and primary health care for each family member, from newborns through seniors. A family practitioner is the personal physician for the whole family, providing on-going care in both clinic and hospital settings. Patients can consider the UCSD Scripps Ranch one-stop medical care.

The faculty moving to the new clinic are David E.J. Bazzo, M.D.; Cecilia Gutierrez, M.D.; Tyson Ikeda, M.D.; Martin Kabongo, M.D., Ph.D.; Allison Ross, M.D.; Holly Salzman, M.D.; Mark Shalauta, M.D.; and Norma Lugo, C.F.N.P.

The Clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a Thursday evening clinic until 8:00 p.m. To make an appointment, call (800) 926-8273.
