Titans of Industry Headline 10th Annual Re-Shaping Health Care Conference

National leaders from the corporate, philanthropic and policy arenas will convene to tackle the tough issues in health care at the 10th Annual Reshaping Healthcare Conference on Friday, September 24 at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina. Headliners include Pat Kelly, president, US Pharmaceuticals of Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Group, Pfizer, Inc.; Bruce Bodaken, CEO, Blue Shield of California; Mark D. Smith, M.D., president, California Health Care Foundation; Emily Friedman, noted national healthcare ethicist; and Ian Morrison, Ph.D., author, consultant and senior research fellow of the Institute for the Future.

Titled “Reshaping Healthcare: The Practical, the Political and the Possible,” the conference will cover a range of pressing topics including healthcare policy and economics, political realities of healthcare financing and delivery, analysis of the rise in healthcare costs and what the future may hold, ethics of providing and budgeting for healthcare and the latest developments in healthcare research.

“While we certainly want the conference to be educational, even more importantly we want to discuss healthcare issues with an eye toward effecting sustainable change,” said Gregory Zinser, Executive Director of the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine and chair of the conference. “We sought out the most innovative minds from throughout the industry to cover vital issues in a way not often covered in the news.”

The 10th annual Re-Shaping Health Care Conference is organized by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, UCSD Extension, the Healthcare Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties, the San Diego County Medical Society, and a collaboration of regional healthcare organizations.
