Bannister Family House

The Bannister Family House provides a home away from home for families of patients undergoing long-term care at UC San Diego Health System in Hillcrest and La Jolla. The non-medical atmosphere of the house provides a retreat from the stress of keeping a constant bedside vigil at the hospital. Families have a chance to meet other families in similar situations and develop a support network necessary to sustain a loved one through serious illness.

Our Mission

The mission of Bannister Family House is to provide affordable lodging and supportive services for out-of-town families of patients who have come to UC San Diego Health System due to serious injury or illness. It is a "haven of hope and comfort" for weary families who share similar experiences and concerns in friendly, homelike surroundings close to the hospital.

Bannister Family House Hospitality Suites

The Bannister Family House has partnered Moores Cancer Center and ARCH to provide (2) Two-bedroom furnished apartments in La Jolla. These suites are offered to accommodate the needs of the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center only. See our admissions page for more information.

Bannister Family House is a member of the National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses.
