Helicopter Ball Drop Fundraiser
UC San Diego Bannister House held its 20th annual golf tournament on April 29, 2013. This year, organizers dropped hundreds of golf balls from a helicopter to raise funds for the facility. One ball landed in the hole. The person who had purchased the ball won $4,000.

About the Tournament
In 2012, the 19th Annual Golf Tournament at San Diego Country Club had a record 130 golfers and raised over $125,000! Monies raised directly benefits the Bannister Family House and its mission to provide a haven of hope and comfort for families supporting a loved one receiving long-term, critical care at the UC San Diego Health System.

About Bannister Family House
The annual expense of running the Bannister Family House is approximately $350,000.
More than 13 departments of UC San Diego Health System refer their patients families to the House, including but not limited to; Trauma, Burn Unit Moores Cancer Center, Transplant Department & Neonatal Intensive Care (NICE). Since its opening in May 1994, more than 3,900 families from 50 states and 24 countries have found solace at the House.
