Healing Baskets
The road to recovery for many patients and their family members is often filled with fears and uncertainty.
Providing patients with a level normalcy is an important element in the healing process. Healing Baskets, located at each nursing station throughout UC San Diego Health System, help to facilitate this process.
Healing Baskets contain a variety of comforting and healing items to nurture a patient's physical and spiritual well-being. Patients may select items from Healing Baskets for personal use, including:
- Massage lotion
- Massager
- Aromatherapy oil
- Cotton pads
- Care notes
- Guidepost
- Our Daily Bread
- Holy Bible
- Jewish Prayer Book
- Koran
- Rosaries
- Classical meditation CD *
- Audio cassettes *
- Video tapes *
* Audio, video and electronic items are lending-use only items. All other items may be retained by the patient.
