The UCSD School of Medicine and UCSD Medical Center support a number of clinical and research programs for people living with AIDS or HIV, including:
- Owen Clinic, an HIV/AIDs outpatient treatment center that incorporates many disciplines that an AIDS patient may use.
- AntiViral Research Center, which strives to develop and provide the highest quality treatment and care for people living with HIV. This includes conducting state-of-the-art research in partnership with our community.
- Aids Research Institute (ARI), which is committed to education, outreach and patient care while serving as a resource for the community.
- Early Intervention Program, a program for people who recently found they are living with HIV.
- HIV Neurobehavioral Research Unit, a unit that conducts local, national and international research devoted to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of HIV-related diseases as they affect the brain and nervous system, and result in impairment of everyday functioning.
- Mother, Child & Adolescent HIV Program provides comprehensive HIV care to pregnant women, children, teens and mothers. A multidisciplinary team of HIV specialists provides medical care, clinical trials, patient education, counseling, case management and community education.
