Edward Brown, MD
Director, Executive Health and Wellness Program

Dr. Edward David Brown is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. He has been a member of the faculty since 2008, and enjoys teaching medical students and residents.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he completed his medical training at the University of Virginia and his internal medicine residency at Stanford University in California. After his residency training, Dr. Brown practiced in Anchorage, Alaska, for 12 years, and then in the rural community of Walla Walla, Washington, for six years.

Dr. Brown is especially interested in athletics and aging. He enjoys working with patients to demystify the complex medical world and believes in helping patients negotiate medical care with a personal approach. He is married to a physician and has three children. 

Alma Harb, MD
Physician, Executive Health and Wellness Program  

Dr. Alma Harb practices Executive Health and Concierge Medicine at our state-of-the-art medical center of La Jolla. She joined UC San Diego Health System in 2011. Dr. Harb is board certified in internal medicine and a fellow of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.

Prior to joining UC San Diego Health System, Dr. Harb practiced internal medicine at Scripps Coastal Medical Center from 2003 to 2011, providing the highest quality of medical care to San Diego patients. She was recognized in the top 99 percentile by Press Garney national patient satisfaction surveys in 2010.

Dr. Harb received her Doctor of Medicine Degree from Damascus University School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria, in 1997. She completed her Internal Medicine internship at Cleveland Clinic- Meridia program in Cleveland, Ohio, and Internal Medicine residency at Scripps Health - Mercy Program in San Diego, California.

Fluent in Arabic, Spanish, and French, Dr Harb's multi-language skills serve concierge and executive patients of diverse cultures and ethnicity. She was recently elected president of the National Arab American Medical Association- San Diego chapter for 2014-2015.

In her selective practice, Dr. Harb is committed to providing outstanding care built on compassion and personalized attention. She works in unison with her patients, and believes that preventive care is paramount for optimal mind and body well-being.

In her leisure time, Dr. Harb enjoys playing classical piano, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband, Mark, and her three precious boys, Omar, Dani, and Yoseph.

Tahir Bhatti, MD
Director of Integrative/ Holistic Services, Center for Wellness and Personal Growth

Dr. Tahir Bhatti is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. He has been a faculty member at UC San Diego since 1997. Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, he completed his medical training at the University of Iowa College of Medicine, his psychiatry residency at Rush Medical Center in Chicago and his Chief Residency at the UC San Diego School of Medicine.

After his residency training, Dr. Bhatti completed a three-year Psychobiology and Psychopharmacology Clinical Research Fellowship at the UC San Diego VA Medical Center. During this time he conducted studies on Complementary/Alternative Medicine, mood disorders, sleep disorders, and lucid dreaming. In 1996, Dr. Bhatti was awarded one of the first Fellowships to Explore Alternative Therapies in the UCSD School of Medicine. Working with the UC San Diego Departments of Orthopedics and Psychiatry, he studied the effect of t’ai chi in patients with chronic low back pain.

Dr. Bhatti is currently the Director of Integrative/Holistic Services at the Center for Wellness & Personal Growth as part of the UC San Diego Executive Mental Health Program. As an Integrative Psychiatrist, Dr. Bhatti combines his traditional training as a psychiatrist and therapist with meditation, stress reduction techniques, life coaching, chi kung, t’ai chi, breath work, human design and bio-field therapies. He has been a meditation practitioner since 1991 and t’ai chi instructor since 1995.
