Epilepsy Clinical Research & Trials |
|
Clinical research is an important component of the UCSD Epilepsy Center. All clinical trials are monitored by the UCSD Human Subjects Program. In recent years, we have recruited patients for studies on many different treatments and diagnostic procedures. These include:
- Medications
- Vagus Nerve Stimulation
- Ictal SPECT (neuroimaging)
- Evoked potentials in epilepsy
- Executive function in frontal lobe epilepsy
- Hormone therapy in epilepsy affected by the menstrual cycle.
Patients are recruited for clinical trials through their treating physicians or through special recruitment efforts. If you would like to participate in clinical research, please let your neurologist know.
