Vision Correction Services

 What is Vision Correction?

Both laser vision correction and the implantation of Intacts are outpatient treatments employing different, yet proven, techniques that reshape the cornea.  The reshaped cornea allows images to be properly focused on the retina.

Laser vision correction is recgonized by the FDA as a proven, safe and effective procedure for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.  Intacts are currently FDA-approved to correct mild to moderate cases of nearsightedness, and under clinical trials for farsightedness (hyperopia).

Who can have Vision Correction?

Testing during the complimentary evaluation and the comprehensive examination reveals which, if any, vision correction procedure is right for you.  Vision correction options should be discussed with an eye doctor, who can fully evaluate your vision, candidacy, and answer your questions.

Some guidelines for candidacy are:

  • You must have healthy eyes and be at least 18 years old.
  • Your vision must be stable for at least one year.
  • You are not a good candidate if you have a degenerative or auto-immune disease, or if you are pregnant or nursing, or if you have a condition that makes healing difficult.
