About UCSD's Comprehensive Kidney Stone Center

Here at UC San Diego Medical Center's Comprehensive Kidney Stone Center, our team of experts provides advanced medical and surgical treatments for all types of kidney stones. We also specialize in the latest techniques in medical management of kidney stones to prevent recurrent stones.

The director of the Comprehensive Kidney Stone Center is Roger L. Sur, MD, (pictured)
a leader in innovative kidney stone treatment, prevention and research. Dr. Sur, a urologic surgeon certified by the American Board of Urology, was recruited to UC San Diego Medical Center specifically to launch a comprehensive kidney stone treatment center.

The first program of its kind in southern California, the center is dedicated to the medical prevention, advanced surgical treatment and research of kidney stone disease.

Dr. Sur is also part of UCSD's robotic surgery team, specializing in advanced minimally invasive surgical procedures to speed recovery for kidney stone patients.
