The UCSD Liver Center provides comprehensive care to approximately 5,000 patients with acute and chronic liver disease. We are dedicated to understanding the causes of liver disease and developing new therapies to treat it. The Liver Center receives referrals from throughout the region for complex hepatology cases and also provides transplant procedures.

As full-time faculty members of the University of California, San Diego, we educate and train medical students, residents, fellows and practicing physicians, locally and around the country. We also speak at local, regional and national educational programs for the public.
