Molecular Genetics Laboratory
The UCSD Molecular Genetics Laboratory performs DNA- and RNA-based testing for determination of carrier status, prenatal and postnatal diagnosis of disease, identification of acquired mutations and predictive analysis of future disease.
Laboratory services include:
- Interpretation of test results
- Residual risk assessment
- Genetic counseling

Laboratory Staffing, Licensing Information
The laboratory is under the direction of a board certified Molecular Genetic Pathologist and is staffed by licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientists specializing in Molecular Biology.
It is licensed by the State of California Department of Health Services and accredited by the College of American Pathologists.
