Alzheimer's Support Groups & Quality of Life Programs

The Shiley-Marcos ADRC also offers two support groups that are open to our study participants as well as the general public -- a weekly support group for people with early-stage Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and a monthly support group for younger caregivers (under age 60).  These groups have long focused on addressing the needs of specific populations not generally served through Alzheimer's community support groups.

The ADRC offers individuals with early stage memory loss and their families the opportunity to be involved in a variety of Quality of Life Programs, organized by Lisa Snyder, LCSW. These programs include an outings group as well as an art appreciation program for persons with AD and their caregivers in partnership with the San Diego Museum of Art.

For more information on these support groups and other quality of life programs, please contact Lisa Snyder at (858) 622-5800 or email lsnyder@ucsd.edu.
