Patient Care

Patient Care
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive disease that attacks the nerve cells responsible for controlling voluntary muscles. When motor neurons are destroyed, the brain can no longer communicate with muscles throughout the body. As a result, muscles become paralyzed.
