The UCSD Department of Sports Medicine's current areas of research include the evaluation and assessment of:
- Biomechanics of various methods of rotator cuff repair
- Advanced imaging modalities (in collaboration with UCSD radiology specialists)
- Novel rehabilitation and sports-training modalities for injury management and performance enhancement
- New methods of ligament reconstruction and fixation
