Research is being conducted by the UCSD division of Orthopedic Trauma Surgery in the following areas:
- Compartment syndrome
- Tibia fractures
- Biomechanical studies of fractures, plates, and external fixation
- Hip fractures
- Missed injuries in patients with multiple injuries
- Injuries sustained from falls from a height
- Classfication of navicular (foot) fractures
