The UCSD Adolescent Medicine program is designed to provide comprehensive health care to teenagers.
Adolescence (ages 12-19) is a special time that brings about particular concerns for young men and women, as well as parents. Teenagers are often confronted with certain medical needs and emotional stresses that require understanding by specially trained professionals. It can be a confusing time for teens and their families.
The primary goal of the UCSD Adolescent Medicine program is to help teenagers take responsibility for their health by teaching them how to prevent disease and develop healthy behavior.

Adolescent Medicine Physicians
What distinguishes our physicians is their specialty interest and training in adolescent medicine. Members of the division are all experts in adolescent medicine with several years of specialty adolescent medicine training beyond general pediatrics or internal medicine.
