CalWorks Program - UCSD Outpatient Psychiatric Services provides crosstraining in addiction, mental illness and domestic violence to alcohol, drug and mental health counselors, employment case managers, home visitors and eligiblity technicians providing services to CalWorks recipients.

Personality Assessment is used to assist in differential diagnosis and treatment planning, providing both Axis I and Axis II diagnoses. A comprehensive interview is supplemented with formal testing on objective and projective measures.
Both self-report and abstract problem-solving tasks are used to provide information on how one solves novel problems in an everday environment. Information on emotional, as well as, interpersonal functioning is assessed.

Workers Compensation Evaluations are designed to assess individuals who have experienced a work-related injury. Formal assessment of both cognitive and psychological functioning is conducted. Data is obtained from a clinical interview, formal testing and record review.
These evaluations allow for differential diagnosis and are helpful in making determinations aobut readiness to return to work, need for psychiatric and/or psychological treatment, and vocational rehabilitation and counseling. In addition, follow-up testing provides objective data on changes as a result of treatment and time, offering further assistance in making a determination about job readiness.
