Neuro Interventional Radiology

Neurointerventional radiologists use microcatheter techniques for the following:

  • Thrombolysis in acute stroke
  • Treatment of aneurysms with microcoils
  • Embolization of arteriovenous malformations
  • Intraarterial therapy of intracranial and head and neck tumors

They perform percutaneous biopsies of the spine and head and neck lesions, discograms, vertebroplasty, epidural and nerve root injections.
