Surgery Information
- All operative and invasive procedures at both UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest and Thornton Hospital in La Jolla are scheduled through Central Scheduling. Call 619-543-6363.
- Prior to surgery, you will be seen in the Pre-Op Care Center (PCC) for anesthesia screening, lab work, ECG, pre-op education and financial screening.
- If your surgery requires an overnight hospital stay, you will also need to contact Admissions & Registration to complete the necessary paperwork required to complete the admitting process.
Same-Day (Ambulatory) Surgeries
Many surgical procedures are performed on an outpatient basis. If your surgery has been scheduled for a same-day surgery procedure, the following patient handouts will be provided to you. (Note: these links will open in a Microsoft Word document.)
