The Lifestyle Weight-Loss Program at UC San Diego Health is a 12-week program (with option for ongoing support), that meets once each week for 90 minutes. Gain practical and innovative tools and individual coaching from a dietitian/health educator. Participants use their own foods in the Lifestyle program but have access to purchase HMR foods and meal replacements if they choose.
When you participate in the clinic-based program you will receive careful medical supervision. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or other medical conditions, losing weight can significantly improve your health.
The UC San Diego Weight Management Program offers flexible at-home weight-loss kits. Our at-home program provides you with nutritious foods, tips, informative and motivational materials, as well as phone support.
In this important phase, patients utilize the skills learned during their weight-loss period to plan and manage their eating and exercise habits for long-term success. Weekly classes cover portion sizes, reading food labels, grocery shopping, eating out and more.
This phase emphasizes ongoing strategies, nutrition and long-term behavioral skills to continue weight maintenance and healthy lifestyle habits. This year-long program is for those who have completed at least six months of Phase II but can benefit from the continued accountability and encouragement of monthly classes.
