Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery

The faculty and staff of the Division of Plastic Surgery at UCSD provide consultations and state-of-the art services encompassing the full spectrum of modern plastic surgery. Our faculty members have clinical expertise in aesthetic, burn, hand, breast, facial cosmetic, body contouring, general reconstructive surgery and craniofacial pediatric plastic surgery. As a team of plastic surgeons we can offer performance of the most complicated surgeries (e.g., microsurgical reconstructions). The team approach improves results, shortens anesthesia time and increases overall patient safety.

The Division of Plastic Surgery performs all types of reconstructive and plastic surgery, including:

  • General reconstruction
  • Breast reconstruction
  • Skin cancer reconstructive surgery
  • Reconstruction for birth defects
  • Liposuction
  • Facial surgery
  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Tummy tuck

Additionally, our specialists provide assistance to other surgical disciplines performing reconstructive and cosmetic services.

We offer modern plastic surgery not only through surgical procedures but also through non-invasive interventions or programs. Non-invasive cosmetic surgery includes:

  • skin care
  • beautification by chemical peels
  • laser-assisted treatments
  • creams
  • bleaching agents
  • removal of unwanted hair,
  • softening of unwanted expression wrinkles by Botox

To maximize the rejuvenation process, your plastic surgeon will advise you how to combine both non-invasive and invasive procedures for the best overall result and maintenance. We work closely with other specialists, such as cosmetic dentists, dermatologists, nutritional and fitness experts, to give you personalized guidance on how to improve both your quality of life and self-esteem. We customize our care to your objectives, time and preferences.

We are dedicated to your safety and your well being. As we are academic plastic surgeons, we are also dedicated to offering you more options and the newest technologies. Many patients with difficult medical problems come to UCSD seeking solutions from our physicians and researchers. If you are looking for answers, this is where the experts are.
