Contour ThreadLift™ -- the Scar-Free Face Lift

Scar Free Face LiftNow there’s a way to have a natural-looking lift for your brows, face, or neck -- without the incisions and trauma of a traditional facelift.

Elite centers like UCSD Plastic Surgery are offering the Contour ThreadLift™, a new, minimally invasive procedure that gives facelift-like results with minimal discomfort and recovery time.

With the Contour ThreadLift,™ the plastic surgeon gently lifts sagging tissue in the brow, face, and neck using tiny incisions and clear, nonabsorbable sutures, or threads.  The surgeon places threads precisely where the patient desires for a renewed, refreshed, and rejuvenated appearance.  The results last three to five years or more, depending on the patient.

  • Done under a local anesthetic, the average ThreadLift™ procedure lasts an hour or less.
  • Patients may wear concealing makeup the next day, and they return to normal activities in a few days to a week.
  • ThreadLift™ can be combined with other plastic surgery procedures such as botulinum toxin (Botox®), augmentation, or liposuction.  It does not replace a traditional lift, and the patient can still choose to have a traditional face lift, brow lift, or neck procedure at a later time.
  • Complications of the ThreadLift™ are rare.  They include swelling, bruising, thread rupture, skin irregularities, asymmetries, puckering, and infection.  It may be possible for the patient to feel the threads, or to feel some tightness or pulling.
  • ThreadLift™ is reversible, and most unwanted effects can be corrected under local anesthesia.

UCSD’s Dr. Marek Dobke and Dr. James Chao are specially trained to perform the ThreadLift™.  To talk with Dr. Dobke or Dr. Chao about a Contour ThreadLift™, please call (619) 294-3746.

Contour ThreadLift™ is a product of Surgical Specialties Corporation of Reading, PA.  For more information from the manufacturer, visit www.contourthreads.com.
