What to Expect During Your Consultation

Your Surgery | Forms & Information

• All operative and invasive procedures at both UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest and Thornton Hospital in La Jolla are scheduled through Central Scheduling.
  
  
• Prior to surgery, patients will be seen in the Pre-Op Evaluation Center for anesthesia screening, lab work, ECG, pre-op education and financial screening.
  
  
• Patients whose surgery will require an inpatient stay will also need to contact Admissions & Registration to complete the necessary paperwork required to complete the admitting process.

Same-Day (Ambulatory) Surgeries

Many surgical procedures can now be performed on an outpatient basis. If your surgery has been scheduled in our same-day surgery suite , the following patient handouts will be provided to you. (Note: these links will open in a Microsoft Word document.)
