H1N1 (Swine Flu) Information & Updates

In an effort to help the San Diego community stay safe and healthy this flu season, UC San Diego Medical Center continues to monitor changes regarding seasonal and H1N1 Influenza.  We have also assembled a Flu Task force to guide our response and provide our community with basic information and answers to the most frequently asked questions.Learn About Our Revised Visitation Guidelines

UPDATE January 7, 2010

UC San Diego Medical Center recently received additional H1N1 vaccine, which allows us to offer vaccination to all our employees AND all UC San Diego Medical Center patients.

People who should be vaccinated include:

  • Pregnant women, including postpartum
  • People who live with or provide care for infants who are less than six months old – such as parents, siblings, and daycare providers
  • Anyone older than six months of age, regardless of risk for influenza-related complications

If you have additional questions about being vaccinated, please check with your primary care provider.
