Volunteer Services

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with us! Your first step to volunteering is to attend an orientation. We accept volunteers starting from age 14.

Our volunteer program supports UCSD Medical Center personnel in their activities of patient care, education and research. The role of volunteers is not to replace, but to supplement the regular professional staff, freeing them to provide the highest quality of patient care.

Approximately 800 volunteers are in the volunteer corps at any one time. This includes adults, college students, high school students (at least age 14), and San Diego community chaplains.
