What Do Volunteers Do?

Volunteer assignments may include a combination of clinical and administrative tasks.

Clinical Tasks
  • Run errands to labs, pharmacy and other areas.
  • Transport and escort patients (using wheelchair).
  • Assist staff with patients (feeding, turning, ambulating).
  • Read to and visit with patients.
Administrative Tasks
  • Filing.
  • Answer phones, take messages.
  • Computer data entry.
  • Organize patient charts.
  • Organize patient information materials.
  • Photocopying.
  • Clean equipment.
  • Organize supplies.
