The staff caring for you at UCSD Medical Center will let you know when you will be discharged.
Before leaving, expect the following:
- Receive discharge instructions for your self-care and follow-up care
- Pick up your valuables from the Admissions Department
- Pick up any discharge medications needed from the pharmacy
- An escort to the main entrance of the hospital (Public transportation is available, if needed.)
UCSD Medical Center is dedicated to making your experience comfortable. We are committed to treating you with competence, compassion and courtesy.
If you have a question or concern about your stay, please let us know. We encourage you to express your feelings and share questions and concerns directly with the people involved in your care.
Discharge Survey
Following your discharge or outpatient visit, you may receive a survey in the mail. This survey gives you an opportunity to comment on the care and service provided by UCSD Medical Center. We are very interested in hearing your comments.
We respect your choice if you decide not to participate. Contact the Patient Experience/Service Excellence Department at (619) 543-5678 if you do not want to receive a survey .
Patient feedback is very important. Our managers frequently visit patients to solicit their feedback and we appreciate your comments. We are continually working to improve our service. We encourage you to contact us to share compliments, comments or suggestions regarding your hospital stay.
