Ryan White Coverage & Eligibility
UC San Diego Health's Owen Clinic is one of the region's largest Ryan White contracted care providers.
What Is the Ryan White Program?
The Ryan White HIV/AIDS program supports primary medical care and essential support services for people living with HIV who are uninsured or underinsured and don’t qualify for other insurance such as Medi-Cal, Medicare, or private health insurance. It does not cover inpatient (hospital) care.
The program also funds technical assistance, clinical training, and the development of innovative models of care than now enable people with HIV to have close to normal lifespans.
The program is divided into five parts. The parts directly related to patient care are listed below.
Program | Application |
---|---|
Part C | Covers primary care |
Part D | Covers pre-natal and pre-conception care, and mother, infant, children and youth primary care |
ADAP | Covers HIV medication |
Dental program | Covers oral health care |
