PGY2 Cardiology Residency
Thank you for your interest in UC San Diego Health PGY2 Cardiology Pharmacy residency program! The residency programs here are fully committed to providing residents with a supportive learning environment and fostering professional growth in evidence-based patient care, teaching, and research. This residency's goal is to further the resident's ability to work within interdisciplinary specialty teams while managing cardiology-related disease states.
The resident will have rotations in both the inpatient and outpatient settings and will gain experience in caring for patients in many cardiology specialties. Residents will also select from a wide variety of electives and projects that will allow them to further explore their interests and work toward their career goals.
Program Summary
Graduating residents will be able to act as advanced practitioners who are equipped to become fully integrated members of the interdisciplinary team and provide exemplary healthcare. Graduates from this program will be prepared to sit for the Board-Certified Cardiology Pharmacist (BCCP) exam. Residents will develop leadership and project management skills during the residency year by participating in hospital committees and various projects. Residents will also be involved in teaching activities such as facilitating student therapeutics conferences and precepting pharmacy students and pharmacy residents.
