Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center
La Jolla, CA 92037
Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center is the region's first academic-based facility to combine all heart and vascular-related services, programs and technology under one roof. The new technologies, techniques and treatments we develop at UC San Diego Health are setting new standards in vascular and cardiac care – for our patients, and for the world.
History of Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center
In February 2005, UC San Diego received a $10 million gift from Richard and Maria (Gaby) Sulpizio to help construct a state-of-the-art cardiovascular patient care and clinical research facility. In recognition, our facility is called the Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center.
When it opened in 2011, the center unified ambulatory, clinical, and inpatient heart and stroke care in one convenient location. It has also won recognition for its world-class design, including being named one of the nation's
Most Beautiful Hospitals in 2012, and
Modern Healthcare's highest design honor.
