Moores Cancer Center Procedure Suite

Location:  Moores Cancer Center Suite 1149

Number of Beds: Ambulatory Procedure Suite 5 Prep Chairs, 5 Procedure Rooms and 4 Recovery Bays

Type of Patients/Scope of Practice: Our unit focuses on pain procedures including Intra-Thecal Pain Pumps, Genitourinary Procedures (Cystoscopies and Prostate Biopsies), Oncology procedures, Bone Marrow Biopsies and Lumbar punctures.  23% of our nurses have their MSN and 70% have their BSN. Multiple nurses on our unit have been awarded the DAISY Award for compassionate caring and our staff continually participates in frontline leadership academy.  Nurses are encouraged to participate in Shared Governance councils and to become a preceptor. 

Ideal Candidates: We require a current California RN license, BCLS/ACLS certification, ambulatory care and procedural sedation experience plus demonstrated nursing clinical skills to quickly and efficiently assess their patient’s condition and their needs, then translate their medical treatment into information the patient can understand and use at home. Nurses are also encouraged to gain experience and training in holistic nursing and become pain certified.  Our nurses also have the opportunity to attend many continuing staff education programs.
